I'll just throw in some films from my top 10:

Oldboy
Requiem For A Dream
Battle Royale
28 Days Later
Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance
Ichi the Killer
Pan's Labyrinth

As for TV shows the decade gave us THE greatest show ever created: Metalocalypse!

I know this is going to give Lokey license to come in here and be the best blowhard he can be, but fuck the fat fuck.

Pfft...you love my fat cock and you know it. Speaking of fat, ol' Frankenstein head is looking kinda chunky himself these days.

Right, like I give a Christ what Tarantino looks like.

I totally care. The fatter he gets, the better the chances that he'll die soon.

Some of my favorites:

District 9
Battle Royale
Slumdog Millionaire
History of Violence
Donnie Darko
Bubba Ho-Tep
Shaun of the Dead
Y Tu Mama Tambien (Not a mind blowing flick, but as much as I've masturbated to it...it's only fair that I include it.)

There Will Be Blood should be on that list. And while you're at it take that Dark Knight bullshit off there so I can wipe my ass with it.

There Will Be Blood???? Are you fucking kidding me? This from the guy who says Rosemary's Baby is unwatchable due to its slow pace.

There Will Be Boredom is a more appropriate title.

Tarantino had a pretty decent decade in my opinion. Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2 are exceptionally good. And Inglourious Basterds deserves to be on this list. Death Proof does not. I like DP, but he has done much better work.
Death Proof worked perfectly well within its original aspect as a part of Grindhouse. You can't split that movie up and judge parts of it as independent entities. Though I realize this is what they've done, which is too bad.

After checking a few online lists... I have to throw Mulholland Drive in there as well.

Oh yeah, if Mulholland Drive qualifies, I agree completely.

I actually have not seen most of those movies. One or two of them have been mentioned here. I just recently saw Open Water, and I didn't think it was anything special--except perhaps for the fact that it left me with a bit of an empty, hopeless sort of feeling.

Must've been over your head. That film has one of the greatest endings ever lensed.

IMO the naughts easily belongs to the Asians.. Even with my bias towards Asian film, When I look back at the previous decades Asian film I don't hold any of them in such high regards as the naughts.

Here are some examples..

Haze
Vital
Nightmare Detective
Thirst
The Decent
Vengeance Trilogy
I'm a cyborg but that's OK
Bloody Reunion
13 Game of Death
Survive Style 5+
Paprika
9 Souls
Battle Royale
Late Bloomer
Electric Dragon 8,000 Volts
Gozu
Imprint
IZO
Millenium Actress
Tokyo God fathers
Snake of June
Uzumaki
Visitor Q
The Host

This is also the decade where Yoshihiro Nishimura and Ryûhei Kitamura made their mark.. Whether you like them or not you have to admit it made the naughts more interesting.
