Batman: Arkham Asylum

I want this to be good, I want this too be good..
i keep on repeating that to myself whenever I think of this game it has everything going against it, out of all the games every based within the DCU, I can only think of two that were decent, and one of those dates back to SNES.
Not only that but Eidos is the company behind this game, the people responsible for Tomb Raider, which personally i think is an bland boring series which i am surprised they made as many as they did.. It's kind of like Sega still making sonic games.
But honestly this game looks.... cool
here is the first trailer
http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=46636
here is some gameplay with commentary
http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=47318
and two character reveals.
http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=48062
http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=48038
at least they got the voice acting right.
edit: one of the links did not work, fixed it.. and forgot there was this trailer as well

I've been casually watching the progress of this game since its announcement. Looks like a solid rental from me.

See... I thought the Joker aspect looked rather cheap. It looked like the exact same game as when you play with Batman, with a few different animations thrown in. I might add that the animations look like they will become redundant rather quickly.

Well, the Joker has never been much of a physical combatant. He's a criminal mastermind and pretty much a physical weakling. Here he's jumping on folks and kicking ass and shit--I dunno. If they don't want to do the characters right then what's the point?

I disagree, Nothing in that trailer shows him kicking ass like batman, his moves look weak and gimmicky. Joker does take a hands on approach to killing a lot of people. sneaking, eye gouging, toy bombs, and weakly beating someone on the head to death, are all moves that i think are characteristic of joker.
It is pure fanboy service too, being able to play a game as a Mark Hamil voiced joker.
I think you are complaining for the same reason Jaffe did... at least he was good enough to say why

anyone get this game yet?
I am really enjoying it, one of the best games i've played (said with fanboy bias)
Retarded fact... It is in the guiness book of world records, for most critically acclaimed super hero game..

I played the demo and thought it was fun. But I don't think I'll buy/rent it.

I saw it for dirt cheap at Wal-Mart. I think it was mispriced. $37.

I rented this and am digging the shit out of it. Finally a game where you actually feel like Batman!
For anyone else playing/played, I just beat Killer Croc...how much longer is the game after that segment?
