Well, I joined the Xbox 360 crap out club (not by choice). I had not played my 360 Elite in a while (except my wife has been playing Kingdom of Keflings... yes, it was my wife
). Anyway, I decided to invite my brother over and pick up Modern Warfare 2 to play over the weekend. After getting home and being full of excitement, I decided to play the single player as I waited for my brother to arrive. I got to the second mission when the screen froze. Tried restarting the machine, but it kept freezing around the same spot. I initially thought it was the game... but other games started freezing too and then it froze on the 'main screen'.
I checked online for ways to fix it... tried them all and nothing worked. I received RROD once or twice when starting up, but it would go away after restarting it. My 360 is no longer under warranty for anything except RROD... so hopefully it will do it for Microsoft when they receive it. Otherwise I will need to pay approx. $130. I tried wrapping it in a towel and blowing hot air into the console while it was on for 2-3 hours... restarted it and got RROD. Then restarted it again the next day and it booted up fine... but froze.
So I guess I need to wait 3-4 weeks to get my xbox back and finally be able to play MW2. I guess this is a sign that I need to focus on my school work and stop playing games (get my post-grad degree in May 2010)..
