Another contest?

Everyone hip to it? I'm sure no one can complain, really...I mean, free shit and all. Just using this thread to build a little anticipation. Maybe some suggestions of what should entail for the contest. What members should be applicable to play (post-count wise).

I'd have to say that I think that is a good idea. It kinda pissed me off last time about one winner who isn't even here on a regular basis. It was your rules, so I didn't voice my opinion when it happened, but since you're asking for suggestions, I'd say that is a good suggestion.

I think maybe 500 post minimum? That way, someone can't just come in here in a couple of days and rack up as many posts as they can to be eligible. It will also guarantee that it will go to someone who is a board regular.

we do also have stats for average posts a day, could go on that.. I would not want to exclude Metapher and VED (are they at 500 yet )

I think the most important thing though is that it is still possible for a member who won last time to win again

Yeah, Del Strange coming in like that was pretty shitty. Sure, he gives us CG X-mas credits around that hideous holiday season, but active here, he is not. What put me into irkiness was that he bought a fucking Gospel DVD? A documentary? WTF?

a contest is an awesome idea, i'm uber interested, but no more "guess the pics" bs.
no offense, but something a bit more cerebral would be nice. that also helps weed out the fly-by-nights & gives newbies a chance as well.
no specifics in mind...on the mst3k board they have contests every week, i can dig thru the vaults & get any ideas that are applicable to us.
i'd say ur avg post count is perhaps more accurate than total....but idk. i mean, really...we all know who the regulars are.
we don't even have to be all specific about it, just bypass any entries from those who don't qualify.

it's not as though we don't trust the church elders.

odd thought...

perhaps a vague scaveneger hunt, that OJ can just judge by who sends him the best stuff.. that way we are giving back, feels community oriented.. for a possible prize I hope we would all be willing to pay 7 dollars to send some stuff in the mail.. All things in the scavenger hunt have to be minimum budget, nothing bought, has to be already own, or can be constructed from owned materials....

Then again that means OJ giving you his mailing address, and I don't know if he actually wants us mailing stuff... you could PM it to the members willing to compete, that way you know exactly who is involved.

For an example something vague would be along the lines of  "a depressing, small token" something like that..

I think we can deduce who the active members are here, so instead of the hefty post-count, I think we'll compile a list of applicable members. At least the prize(s) will go out to those who bother with us here.
