OJ and I did some adjustments today, as you may have noticed. One of them being we have a new handy-dandy Amazon.com widget at the bottom of the homepage. Since you lot seem to buy shit from Amazon.com anyways, you can search for shit through the widget and when you buy your stuff the board will get a small kickback which we can then roll back into the board in some manner.

Here's a visual aid:

EDIT: Larry brought up some valid points and as a result this thread has been retitled and I have removed the hated widgets from the front page. If you still want to use the links here they are:

Amazon.com
Amazon.co.uk
Amazon.ca

Since you lot seem to but shit...

I take offense to that. I do not but shit.

Very cool though, I will be sure to use this widget next time I place an order at Amazon. I take it the more money that is spent on an order, the bigger kickback the board receives?

Yeah, I think it's all based off percentages. Any little bit that comes in will probably be used for future contests and such. Well...after I buy a new house.

One question, this might be a stupid one, but does the board still receive a percentage of the sales if the purchase is through Amazon Marketplace or does it have to be through the Amazon store?

I've never bought anything from Amazon. I have a good book store right here beside me.

If I ever decide to buy something from Amazon, I'll try to remember this.

I believe Marketplace counts as well. Basically as long as your search starts with the widget. You don't even have to do a search in the widget, just open the Amazon web page through it.

I use them mostly for DVDs although I do resort to them for books as well seeing as every bookstore in Calgary I go to (close ones) sucks ass.

If you're on the fence due to reliability, they're reliable as fuck and their customer service is excellent. I didn't put a widget for Amazon.ca because we felt it would make the board too cluttered as well the population here is most likely going to use .com or .co.uk. That being said if you ever did decide to order from them I'd suggest .ca as you can avoid all the Kanadian border bullshit that way.

EDIT : I decided that I nwould use a .ca widget and added it on the bottom. Looks not too bad now that I've managed to get the banner to display first.

That's good since I tend to use the Marketplace more often.

Yeah no pressure as long as we don't count the gun barrel currently pressed against the back of my skull. ;)

The key is that it's not pressed too hard against the flesh so as to have the illusion of free choice... until one backs up.

Nice work on implementing the links here. But, we're still plenty tacky.
