Finished Timequake. Also recently finished Savage Messiah, which chronicles the exploits of Canadian cult leader Rock Theriault.

Started on yet another Vonnegut novel, Mother Night.

Finished Mother Night and I think I'll give Vonnegut a rest for a bit despite it being stellar reading. I'm probably now going to dip into Max Brooks' The Zombie Survival Guide. It seems to be a favorite amongst horror enthusiasts.

Finished The Zombie Survival Guide and let me tell you, I'm ready for fucking war!

An excellent read, and I will be viewing zombie films with much expertise in the future now. For example, when watching Zombie 3 I found myself often yelling at the TV how utterly inept the would-be zombie victims were and found myself giving advice to which they did not adhere to.

Now, I shall be delving into Chuck Palahniuk's Lullaby.

I got this for Duane a couple of years back for X-mas and let me tell you, it was bloody difficult to keep it a secret and hope that no one else mentioned getting it before I had the chance to give him his.  But, for whatever reason I was able to keep it a secret and he had no idea it even was around.  I rule.

Finished Palahniuk's Lullaby and it was certainly unique as Palahniuk generally is. Although it got pretty absurd 3/4th's of the way through, it still maintained itself and given the universe it still felt relatively believable.

Not sure what I'll be reading next, it'll be decided tomorrow before work.

I guess I'll now be reading White Rabbit, which is basically a collection of experiences from various hallucinagins/opiates/narcotics from noted personalities in the past couple of centuries: Freud, Wilde, Thompson, Burroughs, etc...

Hopefully, when I'm done, Swan Song (the book I got from eBay) will have arrived by then and I can crack into that one.

Patrick O'Brian's Aubery and Maturin series.  The technical stuff gets a little long but the actual battles are usually a lot of fun.  Lots of gooey bits.

Some big, oversize book full of text and pictures called Ghosts, which purports to be a study of the titular phenomenon throughout history. It does indeed describe many historical cases of ghostly happenings, but it contains just as much new-age crap about how one might communicate with spirits, accomplish astral projection, and so on. The author is very obviously biased in his viewpoint that all this stuff is undeniably legitimate. Huge disappointment--I skipped over large portions of text in search of the historical incidents spoken of within the  book's misrepresentative back cover blurb.

I recently bought a similar book entitled The Supernatural that is pretty similar to what you summed up there. A few historical cases which I love reading, but a lot of new-age, astrological mumbo jumbo embedded throughout. When I sit down to read it I plan on being very selective.

Finished White Rabbit, which was a mixed bag, some great stories regarding various drug inducement, while others bored me to tears with non-sensical ramblings. I guess there is a downside to drugs afterall.

I now started Clive Barkers The Damnation Game due to the fact that Swan Song, a book I ordered from eBay, has yet to arrive. Glad to see that $12.00 shipping is paying off.

Finally finished The Damnation Game which was a great read despite some dry moments and seeming implausibility amongst certain characters.

I have now started on Haunted Heartland: Haunting Tales in America's Midwest which concerns, you guessed it, hauntings in America's Midwest. All alleged true ghostly accounts spanning the history of America. I'm reading it in anticipation of Halloween :)
