I know we are pretty vain with it comes to CGI in horror flix, but it's the only way to do this since I don't have the actual actors.  :P
Plus, it'll be quick shots.  At least two-three shots of morphing demons (a card playing table shot and Belushi doing his "FOOD FIGHT" warrior yell, where the statement will be omitted), a shot of a head being blown-off and a few squib-like shots, a snuff viddy-approach with a scene or two, lots of jittery "Graham hates MTV camera cinematography" camera movements, and references to satanism.  The toughest thing is gonna be laying this all out for three viddies.

No voice-overs... so, what I have an issue with is... not doing the f/x, but putting down typed statements, such as "From the director of An American Werewolf in London and Innocent Blood".

Sounds great. And I know I bitch about the same thing when it comes to horror films but I try to be mindful of the workings of an amateur. It is inexcusable when one is working with a $18M budget for CGI alone.

I can't wait to see the progress of this. Sounds interesting.

On a somewhat related note on a much larger scale, I recently came across a site that has hundreds of movies that are re-edited to the would-be editor's liking. I've yet to download any as their torrent page seems to be out of order and I'm not particularly interested in downloading 30 separate rapidshare files, but I'll float it out there all the same:

This looks particularly interesting out of the bunch. Would love to see how it turned out and may rapidshare it.

Main website.

Jesus Christ.  I thought you were meaning you finally found the page with all the edited trailers... NOT FULL VERSION FILMS.  Wow.... just simply... wow.
After reading a few of those, I noticed they really didn't do much... not like how the trailers are done.. but adding deleted scenes back into it or taking out stupid shit.  At first glance, you would have thunk they tweaked shit like Lucas had done with the first three Star Wars.

Yeah, some seem to be fairly straight forward edits and nothing spectacular but given the synopsis of some of the re-edits it appears to be completely new films. Should be interesting to view some classics in a new light (i.e. A straight-forward Evil Dead 2 with no laughs at all).

Finished my Rutger Hauer/Roy Batty piece from Blade Runner.

I'm thinking of doing a close-up of my eye next.  I have my reasons.  :)

I was originally gonna have a solid black "frame" (with a title bar/engraving on the bottom), but the shading variations were evident.  So, I transformed it to wood grain.  It doesn't fit the mood, but I had to do something.  Also, the background was gonna be uber-detailed, but I didn't want to spend months doing it for a fan-boy piece.  So, I transformed that, too, to just plain-jane.

You can't get a consistent black border with charcoal? I've done it before and I laid it so thick it looked like paint.

In any case, good piece.

Fuck.  I never thought of that.  Cripes.  And I have enough to do it, too.   ::)  Too late, it's sprayed.

Cool i dig eyes.  I put an extreme close up of one of my eyes as our desktop once, it was cool.  You could see the flap they cut for my lasik.

As always, good work Kev.

I want to get that done.  But, even with insurance, I'm still paying more than a 1k out of pocket.  :(

I'm shocked you like the eyes.  I started with them first, but I used a pencil that I shouldn't have... would NOT erase after I made the lines, pissed me off cuz the shaded eye looked like anime.   ::)  After shading it in, I decided I also wanted it to be lighter to get a  "reflective" look from it like in the film.  Not successful, but I like the lighter shade for it.  Less human.

There are splotches on the background from when I blotted areas with an eraser, and CAUGHT A GNAT under it.  The splotches are actually remnants of blood from it that won't erase.  Look like little fossils.

Ditto, great work.  Do you sell any of it?

I also would like to get my eyes done, but I am a chicken!     Maybe someday.
