Yeah, Nance was there. She took the hammy picture.
As for her distinctive voice, it does get pretty distinctive when she gets angry, which is often let me assure you. Since she has moved to Calgary I've been taking her to a lot of metal and punk shows...she hates that shit normally, but the bug has bit her now...and is slowly forming under my tutelage.

The Melvins were fucking LOUD. I can't imagine the irreparable damage done to my ears. Great show though. Ran around 90 minutes. Nance and myself were a foot away from Buzz the entire time. No damage done in the pit this time, as I was a good boy and only had 4 beers (wanted to actually remember this show), and we were off to the side and not in the vortex of it all. Kind of a weird crowd though...a mixture of hipsters and skinheads. I've never seen so many shaved heads, iron cross tattoos, and horn-rimmed glasses in one room.

And of course they finished the show with a 15 minute duel drum solo:

Nice! Wish I was there. One of my favorite bands of all time. Was this the midnight show?

Yeah, the midnight show.

Ya know, what I think was really unique about the show is that there was no break between songs at all. It was almost like a 90 minute jam session. Most of the songs I knew, but in between, a lot of repetitive noise, jamming, and drone. Buzz never addressed the crowd once...well, until someone got kicked out. Then they all droned on with a "goooooood-byyyyeeeeeeeeee" for 5 minutes as the bouncer dragged him out. And the funny thing was, they all went on with their droning of "good-bye" before the asshat even provoked the bouncer. So, it was either coincidence, or they're clairvoyant. Very strange indeed. But it pieced in to the set very well.
It was also very nice that there was no pandering to the drunken horde below the Gods known as The Melvins. Just played their raw shit. Buzz seemed to be in a trance the second he grabbed his guitar. Only him and his guitar. No one else. Killer fucking show.

Oh, and Boris is playing at the Republik later this month. Not sure if anyone here is into them. Sludging drone metal. In the vein of Sun o))).
Never seen anything close to that, so we may go. Just to see how well it fares live.

And now, finally, after $75 and 8 fucking months of postponement I can finally go and see Megadeth, Slayer and Testament. It's about fucking time. My patience has disappeared and I've been up since 5:30am today... They'd better not let me down.  :headbang:

The concert last night was fucking amazing. That is all.

PS: Dave Mustaine's hair makes him look like Simba from The Lion King.

So, did Tom make it through the set without losing his voice?

He actually did very well during the show. Mind you, he did pull away from the mike a couple of times while he was going at it, although that may have been nothing. I'm just happy his vagina didn't explode this time.
