Well, having read around 5 books on the life of Jim Morrison, it's safe to say the man was portrayed extremely poorly in Stone's vision. Your "drug-addled hippie" assumption couldn't be further from the truth really...but your assumptions are clearly based off the movie and little else. So perpetuate your damned lies to others-Not me! :-X
