I watched the first two episodes in Bava's anthology Black Sabbath.

The second episode, which title evades me momentarily, was very unique in the sense that it was (presumably) set in the 17 century, give or take, yet it maintained a very vibrant, psychedelic style throughout--oxymoronic to be sure, but it works very well. Bava's style remains unparalleled.

The first episode ( title also evades me ) is clearly the beginning of a very common theme amongst slasher films of the late 70's/early 80's, the creep bothering some poor lass over the telephone only to find out he has been watching her from the window the entire time.

It really is amazing how many foundations Bava has laid for the horror film yet I find he is rarely mentioned. After watching these two episodes my respect for Bava has been raised exponentionally.

I don't want to discourage your enthusiasm, but I personally felt that Black Sabbath was one of Bava's lesser efforts. Not to say that it isn't an entertaining movie--it certainly is--but it broke no new ground. It is merely a fine, traditional horror anthology, in my opinion.

I've seen better Bava by far, I was simply admiring the foundations he set and the unique style implemented throughout.

Watched the Other.

Been also digging the Bava.  I haven't seen nearly enough of his work.  Good thing we bought the boxed set.

Although the gay hardcore was in abundance, seeing Sook-Yin Lee in all her bare glory more than made up for it.

I fucking hate Sook-yin Lee.

I am by no means a fan nor do I find her remotely attractive but the fact remains that I grew up watching her against my will in the early 90's trying to catch the latest Guns N' Roses video and there is something oddly appealing watching her as a middled-aged women masturbating and such...

That's vile. I was hoping to see her take some ass to mouth and then a painful shot in the gums causing her to retch, but I was disappointed.

Alpha Dog was great.  I really like it.  It should be interesting to see what my co-workers thoughts are on it.

Watched Methadonia which is an HBO documentary pertaining to former heroin users who are now addicted to methadone. It's interesting to see how the methadone companies will try anything to keep their victims under their spell...

Also watched Return of the Living Dead, at least partially before I fell asleep.
