Ghengis Khan: To the Ends of the Earth and Sea
Mongol

Watched both of these back to back, so it was interesting to see some of the differences.  Especially the strong melodrama in Genghis Khan... which, I guess, is to be expected.  I'm a bit more partial to Mongol because it's a bit more gritty and has some strong scenes.

To be honest, I didn't know much about Genghis Khan going into either of these films.  And I found it interesting to see some of the similarities and differences between the films portrayal of Genghis Khan's early life.

If you're going to watch one of these films... I'd recommend checking out the other for comparison.  I doubt I'll watch either of these films again.

Was fantastic. Very neat gore and an interesting serial killer. Madness is always a nice watch.

30 Days of Night - Well, they regretfully fucked-up a pretty standard survival horror story on this one. I'll admit I was slowly getting into the story of the town systematically being cut off from the rest of the world, but as the reveal of the vampires came about I pretty much lost all interest. Fuck it, I had no expectations for this anyway.

The Brood

Scared - I am very hesitant to give any Thai cinema a chance, most of the films I have seen have been unwatchable, there has only been a few movies I enjoyed. Scared now happens to be one of them.. A great slasher flick, with creative kills. It would be the perfect slasher if it wasn't for an awful ending. The other  thai movie that I liked,  13 Beloved game of death, also suffered from really bad ending.

Can anyone reccomend some Thai films that might be worth my time?

Drunk/high-watched Muertos de Risa("Dying of Laughter") and fell asleep. As I understand it, I woke up to my couple of friends LTAO. OJ, you liked this one, too huh? I'ma hafta try to watch it again soon.

Up next !Vampiros en la Habana! - some animated Spanish film compared and put aside to Fritz.

Gah, this one annoyed me. I can see how teenies could enjoy it - Y'know, the younger gen just now with bloomin' pubies. The roar/screams of the vampires just made me wince in pain. I remember bitching about the film in this forum last year.

ehh....Ong Bak? The Protector? I'm plenty ignorant when it comes to Thai flicks and all I know of off the top of my head is Tony Jaa.

I didn't hate it. I think Larry liked it.

In case anyone still gives a shit, In The Folds of The Flesh gets much better after the first half hour. It's still a mess though.

Not sure if you're being facetious here or not, but Larry was very much opposed to the film. I believe he created a thread entitled "30 Days of fuck me in the goat-fucking-ass" in relation to it.
